Astros Minute Maid Park Wi-Fi is Not Free?

WiFi is NOT Free at Minute Maid Park Houston Astros Stadium
Why is WiFi at Houston Astros stadium Minute Maid park not free?  Fans pay a few hundred bucks to watch their favorite team play a 3 hour baseball game and the team ownership is too cheap to subsidize free WiFi for their fans?  They would rather "nickle and dime" you some more and charge you $3.95 for a 4 game pack to access the wireless internet.  This is just stupid and it pisses me off to see this unfriendly use of technology.  Houston Astros ownership should get smart and realize that they should do anything to get fans in their seats and offer free WiFi access.  Its a hassle to log-in to a system and pay if you simply want quick access.  Fans already give an arm and a leg to sit in the seats so make it FREE Astros!

The San Francisco Giants, Atlanta Braves, Minnesota Twins & Arizona Diamondbacks seem to be leading the pack of stadiums adopting WiFi in 2011.  Many stadiums also have cell reception issues like the Yankees stadium where fans are unable to access data on their iPhones and Blackberry's during the game.

AT&T and the Houston Astros announced they have expanded broadband at Minute Maid Park with a new Distributed Antenna System (DAS) and Wi-Fi. This is part of AT&T and the Astros' ongoing efforts to support growing demand for advanced wireless devices and services and is designed to enrich baseball fans' wireless experience whether they are checking scores, updating social networking sites, or uploading photos to friends while cheering in the stands.  Read more on PR Newswire.
